Coromandel Town, Thames and the whole Peninsula
Salt spray off two coastlines, bush pollen and nesting seabirds leave a film on Coromandel panels. We clean with pure water, check the whole system while we’re up there, and send you a report with before and after photos.
Two quick steps. No obligation.
Last step. Takes about 20 seconds.

PrequalifiedHealth and safetyReal jobs around Coromandel
A real Thames job, on the Coromandel Peninsula, photographed by our tech on the day. Salt spray and bush pollen don’t rinse off on their own. They come off with pure water and soft brushes.

From our Coromandel job sheets
Taken from our job records for the Coromandel and Hauraki, January 2023 to now.
More than anywhere else we work. Coromandel customers often add a gutter clear or roof treatment while we’re up there, which saves a second trip over the hill.
Pollen comes up in enquiries from Coromandel Town, Whangamatā and Tairua. Near the beach it’s often mixed with salt, as one Tairua customer put it.
Across the peninsula and the Hauraki Plains.
Including Thames, Whitianga, Coromandel Town and Whangamatā.
What you get
The same three steps on every Coromandel job, from a small array on a family home to a full commercial roof.
Before anything gets wet we look over the panels, wiring, mounts and inverter, and flag anything that’s going to cost you later.
Deionised water through soft brushes on water-fed poles. No chemicals and no water-blasting, so nothing that could harm the glass or the seals.
A written report on how your system is doing, with before and after photos so you can see exactly what came off.
Most homes take about an hour. Lichen treatment or bird proofing can be done on the same visit.

“Excellent service from Eco Shine. Great communication. Friendly helpful team.”
Ben shows how we clean a residential solar system, from setting up our pure water system to going through our maintenance check and outlining a couple of common issues we see impacting your solar system’s output. After this clean, we saw a 21% increase in system output.
Who turns up
Eco Shine Solar is owned and run by three brothers, Edwin, Sam and Ben, born and raised in the Bay of Plenty.
Before solar we represented New Zealand in beach volleyball, picking up a bronze at the Commonwealth Games. We’ve brought the same work ethic from the sand to the roofs, cleaning solar since 2017.
Every job is done by our own team, with pure-water gear and a written report at the end.

Areas we cover
We work the whole Coromandel Peninsula on the same run, so being further out doesn’t mean waiting longer.
Not on the list? Ask us. Chances are we’re nearby that week.
Most Coromandel systems do well on a 12 to 18 month cycle. Beachfront homes and baches tucked under bush often need the shorter end of that because of the extra salt and pollen.
Yes. We work the whole Coromandel Peninsula on the same run, including Thames, Coromandel Town, Whitianga, Tairua, Pāuanui and Whangamatā. Ask for a quote and we’ll fit you into the next run through your area.
Yes. Pōhutukawa, pine and native bush drop pollen and leaf debris across the peninsula year round, and it’s worse on properties backing onto bush. Combined with salt off either coast it builds into a film that traps moisture against the glass rather than washing away in the rain. A pure-water clean lifts it without scratching the panels.
Yes. Gulls are constant along both Coromandel coastlines, and droppings create hot spots that can damage cells if they’re left to bake on in the sun. Nesting material under the array also blocks the airflow panels need to run efficiently. We check for nests on every clean and can mesh the gaps as a bird proofing add-on if you want it sorted.
Tell us roughly how many panels and storeys. We’ll come back with a price, usually the same day. Phones answered 7 days.

We cover the whole peninsula on the same run, including Thames, Coromandel Town, Whitianga, Tairua, Pāuanui and Whangamatā. Two problems come up again and again out here: salt spray off both coastlines that builds into a film rain won’t shift, and lichen on the shaded, damp-prone roofs further into the bush. Both need a proper pure-water clean rather than a rinse.
Plenty of our Coromandel clients are holiday home owners. We can clean while you’re away and send the report and photos once it’s done.
