The highest rate of anywhere we work. Mynas are the main culprit, and one Waipapa customer had been trying to get rid of them for years before finding us.
Lichen gets a dedicated treatment and soft brushes, never a scraper or a water blaster.
From Kerikeri, Waipapa, Haruru, Ōkaihau and Russell up to Mangōnui and Cable Bay on Doubtless Bay.
Once the nests are out, mesh around the edge of the array is what stops the mynas moving straight back in.

Who turns up

Before solar we represented New Zealand in beach volleyball, picking up a bronze at the Commonwealth Games. We’ve brought the same work ethic from the sand to the roofs, cleaning solar since 2017.

Yes, especially on waterfront and elevated roofs here, which catch salt off the bay fastest. We’ve seen output improve by up to 30% on some systems we’ve cleaned, since a dirty panel simply can’t convert as much sun into power. It also gives us a chance to check for gulls nesting under the array before droppings start shading cells.
Lichen needs more than a hose and a rinse. We treat it with a dedicated solution and pure water, then work it off with soft brushes so the panel coating isn’t scratched. In the Far North’s humidity it takes hold fastest on shaded and south-facing arrays, and left alone it etches into the coating and gets harder to shift every season.

Both need a proper pure-water clean rather than a rinse, and bird proofing is available on the same visit if gulls have moved in under your panels.
